The Big Lessons Learned in 2011: So Far

by Jeremy Vaught

I’ve learned big lessons in 2011. Huge. Life changing. And I don’t say that lightly. Technically it all started in December of 2010, but that makes a long headline. My goal here is to briefly introduce these big lessons, and then follow up with more in depth posts on the different topics later on. I’m attempting to write these down in chronological order. Here goes:

1. Too many carbohydrates are bad for you. And by too many I mean not many at all.
2. Saturated fat is good for you.
3. Running shoes cause injury.
4. Roasting your own coffee is well within reason.
5. Eat food that is grown or raised near you.
6. Yoga is pretty cool.
7. Really really nice ear buds are really really nice.
8. I can whiten my teeth for $.88 a bottle and not $50 for 2 weeks of product.
9. I can be happier by having less stuff.
10. Buying shampoo isn’t necessary.
11. Buying deodorant isn’t either.
12. Still pondering/researching if buying tooth paste is necessary.
13. Knowing how different food effects my blood sugar levels is enlightening.
14. You can get free refills of coffee and ice tea with a Starbucks card.
15. JJ Heller’s latest album is amazing.
